Residents of KIBAHA Urged to Support Development Initiatives: A Call to Action for Progress
The KIBAHA Municipal Council has issued a call to action, urging residents to actively participate in and support ongoing development projects. Dr. Rodgers Shemwelekwa, Executive Director of the council, emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the government and the community to accelerate progress and improve the quality of life for all residents.
Dr. Shemwelekwa's remarks came after a one-day tour of various development projects in Picha ya Ndege Ward, where he and his team inspected eight projects worth a total of 1.6 billion/-. These projects were funded through a combination of the Municipal's own resources and government contributions.
The projects inspected included:
- Street road maintenance (30m/-)
- Construction of business centers at Kwambonde Street (562.5m/-)
- Completion of one classroom at Lulanzi Primary School (8m/-)
- Construction of a ward office (24.5m/-)
- One classroom at Mkuza Primary School (20m/-)
Additionally, the team inspected the ongoing construction of the district hospital, jointly financed by the Government and the Municipal Council at a cost of 706.7m/-, as well as the procurement of medical equipment worth 300m/- provided by the Government.
The residents of Picha ya Ndege Ward expressed their gratitude for the government's and council's efforts to address their daily challenges, pledging their full support for ongoing development initiatives. Dr. Shemwelekwa's call to action highlights the importance of community engagement and collaboration in achieving sustainable development and improving the well-being of all residents.
