The Masked Singer is undergoing an exciting transformation, and this season promises not just surprises but a significant increase in unmaskings that will keep everyone on their toes. Jonathan Ross has expressed that the panel is finding it quite challenging to keep pace with all the changes.
Set to premiere next weekend on ITV, this revamped series introduces several fresh elements, including more reveals than ever before and the inclusion of masked bands for the first time.
At 65, Wossy shared his enthusiasm, saying, "For fans of unmaskings, this season is a real treat—there are more unmaskings than we’ve seen previously! There’s so much action going on that we can hardly keep up. Each week, we barely have enough time to make a guess before another mask is lifted. Occasionally, a character emerges unexpectedly, leaving us scrambling to keep track. We’re always on alert!"
Fellow panel member Davina McCall, who showcased the new look by sporting curls and a chic black minidress, added, "Everything feels invigorating and modern. We’ve introduced new concepts and features that certainly maintain our excitement."
As revealed by The Sun, the first two episodes will feature performances from No Trout, led by Goldfish, and the Antarctic Funkeys, featuring Emperor Penguin. In addition to identifying the usual masked contestants, the panelists—including Jonathan, Davina, 58, Mo Gilligan, 37, and Maya Jama, 31—will also need to guess the identities of Goldfish and Emperor Penguin.
Among the intriguing characters this season are Teabag, Moth, and Disc Jockey. However, Maya particularly highlighted a standout character named Can Of Worms, stating, "They rap seamlessly and never falter."
