Ripple Price Prediction: XRP Targets $1.00 Support Level (2026)

Ripple's XRP: A Tale of Bearish Trends and Regulatory Battles

The cryptocurrency market is a volatile arena, and Ripple's XRP has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons lately. With a price decline targeting the $1.00 support level, the remittance token is facing a challenging road ahead. But what's the story behind this downward spiral? Let's dive into the world of XRP and explore the factors at play.

The Bearish Trend and Capital Inflows

XRP's current trajectory is a bearish one, with prices trading at $10.08 as of Monday. This decline has been ongoing for three straight days, and the next key support levels are at $0.04 and $1.00. While the market is experiencing a correction, there's a glimmer of hope in the form of mild capital inflows.

The crypto Fear & Greed Index, a sentiment analysis tool, currently sits at 28, indicating fear among investors. However, this is a slight improvement from the previous day's 26 and last week's 24, suggesting a potential shift in sentiment. Inflows into XRP spot Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) returned on Friday, totaling $107,000, which is a positive sign. Despite subdued demand, cumulative inflows stand at $1.48 billion, indicating a need for sustained demand to reinforce XRP's recovery.

Retail demand, however, is on the back foot. While perpetual futures Open Interest (OI) has increased to 2.13 billion XRP, it's still below the June 23 average of 2.38 billion XRP. This suggests that demand must hold steady over an extended period to affirm a strong bullish grip. Otherwise, XRP risks dropping below the psychological $1.00 level.

Regulatory Headwinds and Legal Battles

One of the key challenges facing XRP is the ongoing regulatory scrutiny. The SEC's lawsuit against Ripple in 2020 alleged that it had sold XRP as unregistered securities. This legal battle had Ripple's CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, and co-founder, Chris Larsen, considering winding down the company and handing over XRP to shareholders.

Garlinghouse, speaking at the University of Kansas School of Business, revealed that the easier path would have been to dissolve the company and end the suit. However, he's glad they chose to fight, as it would have resulted in the loss of hundreds of jobs. The SEC's lawsuit was eventually settled in May 2025, with Judge Analisa Torres ruling that XRP itself was not a security.

Technical Outlook: A Downward Bias

From a technical perspective, XRP retains a bearish near-term bias. The price is holding inside a downward parallel channel and below key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). The 50-day EMA at $1.16, the 100-day EMA at $1.26, and the 200-day EMA near $1.47 all sit overhead, suggesting that rallies are corrective within a broader downtrend.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovering around 42 reinforces the idea that sellers still have the upper hand. Initial resistance appears at the channel top around $1.12, with further barriers at the 50-day EMA near $1.16 and the 100-day EMA at $1.26. The longer-term 200-day EMA around $1.47 caps the broader recovery scope.

Looking down, the Parabolic SAR support around $1.04 is the first level to watch. A sustained break below it would expose the lower boundary of the descending channel near $0.78, where buyers may again attempt to stabilize the pair.

Open Interest and Funding Rates

Open Interest (OI) plays a crucial role in the cryptocurrency market. Higher OI is associated with higher liquidity and new capital inflows, indicating increased efficiency. However, a decrease in OI is a sign of liquidation, with investors leaving and overall demand declining, fueling bearish sentiment.

Funding fees, on the other hand, bridge the gap between spot prices and futures contract prices, increasing liquidation risks. A consistently high and positive funding rate implies bullish sentiment and an expectation of price hikes. Conversely, a consistently negative funding rate indicates bearish sentiment and a potential trend reversal.

In the case of XRP, the current bearish trend and regulatory challenges suggest that the road to recovery will be a long and winding one. While mild capital inflows provide a glimmer of hope, retail demand must hold steady to affirm a strong bullish grip. As the market continues to evolve, XRP's fate remains in the hands of investors and regulatory bodies alike.
